Alicante

Today we update our guide on the province of Alicante. Traditionally known for its wonderful beaches and its large coastal resorts this corner of Spain hides another quite different face. It is a really rich in mountainous province, a paradise for hikers, both by its interior mountains and also for their routes and coastal lookouts, a real delight for the eyes.

Wonderful nature parks can be found close to the coast. The Montgó Park offers spectacular mountain scenery falling over the sea between Denia and Alicante, ending with the wonderful views of San Antonio Cape. The Park of Peñón de Ifach offers the possibility to climb to its summit and enjoy incredible views of Calpe, while the nearby Morro de Toix is a spectacular viewpoint. At L’ Alfás del Pi the walk to Albir Lighthouse is really a delight.

 

Sierra de Bernia surprises with its beauty and the views from places like the Forat de Bernia, or the Fort de Bernia, not to mention the summit of Bernia. Puig Campana in Finestrat is one of the must for lovers of hiking just a few kilometres from Benidorm. Other ridges such as the Mariola, Serrella or Olta offer wonderful tours in an environment of delicious Mediterranean landscapes with views of the coast and the interior.
