Venice and the Dolomites

Today we are happy to introduce a new destination in Europe: Venice and the Dolomites. Two real gems for lovers of art and nature. Everything we can say about Venice is not enough to describe the magic of this wonderful city with its famous canals, one of the most evocative and magical destinations in the world. In addition to being a gigantic museum because of the huge amount of works of art that it houses in its different churches and palaces, just walking through its streets or navigating along its channels is in itself an incomparable experience. On the other hand the Dolomites are a very close mountain area and a true paradise, with incredible landscapes and an incomparable natural wealth. Numerous paths allow us to discover its most spectacular corners.

Today we include a new and great destination in our app: Sicily. Sicily is the largest of the Italian islands and one of the pearls of Southern Italy. Nature seems to have endowed all its wonders to this land: mountains, hills and above all the sea, with its incredible colors, its crystal-clear water and the beauty of its seabeds. Riserva dello Zingaro is a pristine stretch of mountainous coastline. Monte San Calogero offers breathtaking views from the summit. Mount Etna towers to incredible heights and is visible from much of Sicily. Here, the Mediterranean Sea, with its many little islands scattered around the coasts of Sicily – The Aeolians, Egadi and Pelagie Islands, Pantelleria and Ustica – offers unique sceneries.  These little islands are a real paradise.

The island’s capital city, Palermo, is renowned for its fascinating blend of Arabic, Norman and Baroque architecture. Sicily hosts also beautiful and charming towns such as the hilltop town of Erice, the medieval town of Cefalù, or the pretty town of Taormina. The lovely seafront city of Syracruse has many attractions and also does Catania. Fascination for this region grows with treasured archaeological sites that tell the story of the ancient origins of Sicily. Highlights include the ancient port of Selinunte, the ruined Roman villa at Piazza Armerina, the Greek temple complex at Agrigento, or the atmospheric archaeological site of Morgantina. More than 150 magical places you can enjoy from now on in Travelechoes.

Positano, Amalfi Coast, Italy, Campania

Today we introduce a new destination, also in Italy: Campania, best known for the spectacular Amalfi Coast, the incredible ruins of Pompeii and Herculaneum and one of the few active volcanoes in Europe: Mount Vesuvius. Also a city full of character as Naples, certainly with a lot to offer. Within the Amalfi cost there are amazing gems like Positano, Amalfi, Praiano, Sorrento and Ravello. And in Campania we can find areas of great natural beauty like the Cilento National Park and the spectacular islands of Ischia and Procida. You can look for all these destinations and many more in TravelEchoes.

Tuscany & Liguria

Siena, Tuscany

We’re happy to announce that we launch a new destination today: Tuscany and Liguria in Italy. Florence is Tuscany’s crown jewel, with its beautiful buildings, priceless art and unique atmosphere. And amongst the vineyards and hills of Tuscany are other lovely historic towns. Siena is a patrician hilltop town with a past to rival that of Florence. Pisa boasts not just the legendary leaning tower, but also several other attractions. Smaller Tuscan destinations which are popular with holidaymakers include Lucca, San Gimignano (a forest of medieval towers on a hill) and the wine-producing Chianti area. The coastline includes great resorts such as Forte dei Marmi, the Monte Argentario promontory and the Isle of Elba. The region’s thermal springs at Chianciano and Bagni di Lucca are also popular.

Liguria is bordering with France. The region features impressive mountains and lovely rolling hills, overlooking the Ligurian Sea. Its characteristic rocky coast is interrupted by small coves, and beaches of fine golden sand.  The Cinque Terre and the Gulf of Poets, the Gulf of Tigullio, Genoa and Paradise Gulf, the Riviera delle Palme and the Riviera dei Fiori make up the famous coast of Liguria which stretches from Ameglia to Ventimiglia. During an itinerary so spectacular for the beauty of the land and seascapes, we can see the most famous tourist resorts: Portofino, Santa Margherita Ligure, Rapallo, Sestri Levante with its enchanting Baia del Silenzio (Silent Bay), and Chiavari.  Sanremo is the city of flowers. Bordighera and Alassio, with its 3 kilometers of fine sand, along with Laigueglia and Varigotti, are some of the gems embedded in the Riviera di Ponente. Then comes Portovenere – facing Palmaria Island – then Lerici with its grand Medieval castle and elegant villas.
