Today we publish new destinations to complete a comprehensive guide to Switzerland: Ticino, Zurich and the north, center and east of the country. In Ticino we can find nice villages and towns with a charming Italian character as Bellinzona, Lugano, Ascona and Locarno with beautiful natural areas like Mount Tamaro, Monte Lema or the valleys of Maggia, Verzasca and Centovalli. Meanwhile in the east you can visit the Swiss National Park and the Grisons area with spectacular natural treasures such as the Engadine and the Val Bregaglia. Also in the east of the country we find picturesque towns such as Schaffhausen or Steim an Rhein. All in all, a destination with something for everyone: nature, history, art, cities…

Matterhorn, Cervino, Switzerland, Gornegrat

Today we present a new destination in TravelEchoes: western Switzerland. A destination for nature lovers but also for lovers of fairy- tale villages. Among the cities we recommend Geneva, Lausanne, and especially Bern and Fribourg, with exceptional old towns. Solothurn, Thun, St-Ursanne, Montreux and Chillon Castle, are other exceptionally picturesque villages.

As for natural wonders there is an endless catalog: from the peaks in the Bernese Oberland, which include Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau to another mythical mountain in the Valais such as the Matterhorn.  Besides you can visit picturesque valleys as the Lötschental and Lauterbrunnen Valley and also the Aletsch glacier, the largest in Europe. Amazing lakes as the Oechinensee and mountain passes offering great panoramas such as the Furkapass or Grimselpass are also another point of interest. In short, a paradise for nature lovers, perfectly conditioned by a dense network of spectacular mountain railways – like the ones in Zermatt or the Jungfraujoch, the highest railway station in Europe – and cableways – such as the ones accessing the Mont Fort or to Niessen -.
